From Indie Bottlers Walsh Whiskey comes the Writers Tears Cask Strength Collection. This is an an annual release that begun back in 2010. The Writer’s Tears range is famed for it’s unique Malt/ Pot Still blend, omitting the usual grain component used in blends across the globe. This harks back to the golden age of Irish Whiskey. The majority of Irish distilleries refused to adopt the column or coffee still, maintaining that true whiskey could only be produced via copper pot distilling. Aged exclusively in ex-bourbon to maintain the spirit of the blend. Bottled at 53%, non-chill filtered.

Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Hints of toasted cereal, almond oils, creamy chocolate and sweet floral notes.
Palate:
Wild honey, medley of summer fruits, fresh ginger and a spicy single pot still base.
Finish:
A delicate warmth and finish, with a touch of lingering clove.
