Exclusive bottled for Main Malt Bar and Bar Parkmore of Japan. This single malt has been entirely aged for 7 years in a single ex-sauternes wine cask, and is one of the oldest liquid released from Teelings Newmarket distillery. This joint bottling was selected by Bar Parkmore Owner Koji Takatani and Main Malt Bar owner Mr. Goto, having selected and bottled casks indiviually in the past. Non-chill filtered and bottled at a mouth-watering cask strength of 63.3%. A great bottling to check out the progression of the Newmarket distillate, while also exploring sauternes wine maturation in it’s purest form.

Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Matured in a Sauternes wine barrel, introduces itself with an intriguing aroma. The youthful exuberance brings a hint of sweet sugar candy, well-balanced so it doesn’t overshadow. It features delightful accents of pine and kumquat, promising a compelling tasting journey.
Palate:
The body of the whiskey is surprisingly robust. It opens on the palate with a wave of apple and apricot sweetness that sets an expansive stage for the tasting experience. Despite its youth, this single malt holds its own. As the tasting progresses, the whiskey does exhibit some alcoholic warmth, a subtle reminder of its young character.
Finish:
Satisfyingly smooth, with just a touch of spice for a bit of complexity. The fusion of the Sauternes wine barrel maturation introduces an interesting fruity end.
