The Midleton Very Rare 2017 version of the distillery’s ultra-premium range was a long time in coming (not released till very late in the year). It arrived with one of the biggest changes to the look of the classic series in almost 30 years with a completely new bottle shape and wider box.
The whiskey inside is still the excellent selection of the finest 12 to 25 year old whiskeys Midleton has to offer, now artfully blended by Master Distiller Brian Nation, who took over from Barry Crockett in 2013. The Midleton Very Rare produced by Nation so far has been exceptional and the 2017 version seems to be a likely continuation.
Each bottle is individually numbered and individually signed by the Master Distiller himself and is, as always, on limited release.
