Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Robust, chewy and rich, with initial notes of stewed pears, overly ripened soft red apples, candied orange peel, dark chocolate and Kirsch soaked Black Forest Gateau.
Palate:
Raisins, prunes, apricot, roasted nuts. Think Christmas pudding drizzled in fig syrup, giving way to an array of warming winter spices, liquorice, stem ginger, clove, nutmeg and cinnamon.
Finish:
Old leather, cocoa and wonderful dark muscovado treacle.
