Tasting Notes
Nose:
Heavy and dark, intimidatingly rich. The whirlwind of different fruit profiles, tropical, forest, dried, are intoxicating. A balance is struck with intense spice coming through in the form of clove, turmeric, and ginger.
Palate:
Viscous and oily mouthfeel as expected. The fruit dominates initially with a burst of those forest fruit. Raspberry, blackberry, strawberry. Tropical notes follow with papaya, mango and some citrus zest. The port cask continues the journey with some tart cherry, blueberry and honey.
Finish:
Warming, long and leathery. Blackberry, cinnamon, more cherry, with a little ginger kick at the end. This cask strength doesn’t disappoint.
