From Northern Ireland’s Killowen Distillery, one of the smallest in Ireland and thought to be the only to use worm tub condensation, a historic distillation technique. Focusing on centuries of Gin making in Ireland, Killowen Distillery place seasonal botanicals to the fore, many of which are handpicked from the immediate locality. The result is an unusual gin celebrating its maritime and highland environment within the Mourne Mountains. Wild angelica, juniper, fuchsia flower, lemon zest, and meadowsweet, serve as the botanicals infused during distillation with rhubarb, heather, and hibiscus steeped afterwards. Fragrant and fruity, a hit during those longer spring evenings.
