This edition, capped at 6,000 bottles, showcases Teeling’s technical prowess by aging the whiskey in Duvel Belgian Golden Ale casks. Duvel Moortgat Brewery, the maker of the renowned Belgian beer, was founded in 1871. So, as of 2023, that’s 152 years of brewing experience. The brewery has a rich history, and Duvel itself has become an iconic representation of Belgian strong golden ales over the decades. The result? A whiskey with pronounced honeyed sweetness, fruity esters, and a spicy undertone. An artful blend of two beverage giants.

Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Initial aromas of toasted barley and creamy vanilla, followed by subtle hints of citrus zest and orchard fruits, reminiscent of the Belgian ale influence.
Palate:
A harmonious blend of honeyed malt sweetness and crisp fruity esters, primarily apple and pear. The ale’s influence brings forward a gentle effervescence, complemented by undertones of caramel and light spices.
Finish:
Medium-long with lingering notes of honeycomb, a touch of oak, and a mild spicy warmth, culminating in a refreshingly crisp finale.
