Another one of Cooley’s excellent Vintage releases. Twenty years in ex-bourbon barrel with the remainder in the oft-overlooked, French dessert wine sauternes. This process produced some wonderful flavour profiles and proved to be a masterful creation by Teeling.
The unique dual maturation imparts an extra depth of fruit flavours, complemented by the smoky hints brought about by the inclusion of peated malt Cooley was famous for. This hint of smoke, vanilla and coconut from the cask, and dark fruits from the sauternes truly encapsulates the senses. The whiskey itself was hand bottled in beautiful and unique decanter bottles. The whiskey has been the recipient of the Best Irish Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards.
