|1959 - 1972
Still a new idea, in only its second year of what has been a 30+ year run so far, the Midleton Very Rare 1985 went a long way to solidify the concept and show its value among collectors and connoisseurs of the time. It is the first release in which the year appeared on the bottle as it probably hadn’t seemed such an important thing to put on the first run in 1984. Safe to say the 1985 release will have whiskies from both the new and old Midleton distilleries.
Its smooth, long-aged pot still spice blended with similarly aged grain, set the standard for what was to come. Each one is individually numbered and signed by then Master Distiller, Barry Crockett.
