“A great whiskey is more than just a liquid. Its story is one of transformation of grains to complex liquid; it is also one which draws from history. The story is one of people: the craftsmen who create fine whiskey which is enjoyed and shared around the world. It is a story of flavour. Midleton Very Rare can say all of this — and more.”

Midleton Very Rare 1992 Vintage
$ 2,499
If you’re viewing this then you already know the score. The Midleton Very Rare series is Irish Whiskey’s most coveted and sought after collection. Since 1984, a new expression has been released every year showcasing the skill and craftsmanship of the tenured master Distiller. In this case, we have the OG, Barry Crockett. The master distiller becomes directly involved in all aspects of the production and maturation process, choosing a select number of casks, and blending to the point of perfection. Only a limited amount is releases with each year striving to be better than the last. A blend of pot still and grain whiskey, aged for up to 30 years in ex-bourbon barrels. The “Very Rare” title is an understatement. This particular 1992 vintage rarely pops up, and when it does… well we don’t expect to hold on to it for long.
