Closed in 1957, the Kilbeggan Distillery would lay dormant until its reopening as a museum in 1982 with distilling recommencing in 2007 thanks to the takeover by the Teeling family. This light blend pays homage to the old Kilbeggan Distillery, however confusingly, was not distilled at Kilbeggan but rather Cooley Distillery then aged on site at Kilbeggan’s stone warehouse, built circa 1920-1940. Launched in 2007, the liquid is aged in 1st, 2nd and 3rd fill bourbon casks. Good bang for your buck, light, floral, with some cereal and honey notes.
