Method & Madness Single Malt

The first single malt released in a very long time by Midleton as part of the exciting Method & Madness range looking to push the boundaries of the “traditional” whiskey produced by the big players. This whiskey was laid down in 2002 with Master of Whiskey Science, David Quinn bringing his single malt experience from Bushmills, where he was once Head Distiller. Bottled in 2016 it is a fitting reintroduction for Midleton to the Irish single malt scene.

It was matured in ex-bourbon and then finished in virgin French Limousin oak casks to add a zestier dimension. The Master Blender himself, Billy Leighton provides the tasting notes:

Nose: Freshly shelled peanut and cereal malt aroma

Palate: Cracked cinnamon and ice-cream cone wafer

Finish: Fragrant bonbons and a hint of toasted barley
