This single malt whiskey was distilled from Overture barley in the first week of June 2016 at a Wexford farm run by Robert Milne, assisted by his son and a cousin. After four years, nine months and two days of maturation, it was bottled in September 2020. A total of 30,000 bottles are available. Maturation was carried out in four different types of barrel. The final proportion was 34% first-fill American oak, 20% new American oak, 23% French oak and 23% Vin Doux naturel barrels. Waterford’s biggest innovation is applying the concept of “TEIREOIR”. To do this, supply contracts have been agreed with 72 farmers. They supply different types of barley that come from nineteen different types of soil. What is special and unique is the fact Each farmer’s crop is malted, distilled and matured separately. All whiskeys are currently bottled as individual farms with the exception of Gaia.
