Tyrconnell 10-Year-Old Single Malt: Sherry Finish

$ 69

This fine Tyrconnell 10-Year-Old Sherry Cask was created at the Cooley Distillery. It was aged for 10 years in ex-bourbon barrels before spending a further 6-8 months in ex-sherry casks. This has given the spirit a fantastic depth of flavour and a range of notes that will take a few drams to fully understand. Thoroughly enjoyable. Revived by Cooley Distillery, the Tyrconnell brand was originally from the Watt Distillery, County Derry. Company director Alexander Watt owned a chestnut colt, a racehorse that won at 100 to 1 odds in 1876, which is now prominently displayed on the label. The Tyrconnell range was established to explore the idea of cask finishes. The core range being at least 10 years ago with Sherry, Port and Madeira finished offerings. There are also several single cask release at the 15 year statement.
