Tyrconnell 10 Year Old Single Malt Port Cask

An excellent 10 Year Old single malt whiskey that was created at the Cooley distillery and released under their Tyrconnell label. The spirit was first matured in American Oak casks before being transferred to ex-port wood for 6-8 months of additional aging. That has resulted in a sweet and fruity dram that has a lot to be explored. Really nice whiskey.
The Port Finish was initially released as a limited edition, but it became a standard item along with “Sherry Cask Finish” and “Madeira Cask Finish” due to the great response. The casks used produce port wine in the World Heritage-listed Douro Valley of Portugal .
