The ultimate expression of modern Irish Pot Still Whiskey. Launched in 2013 by maser blender Billy Leighton, up until recently this was the oldest expression of the single pot still style to come out of Midleton Distillery. Matured exclusively in first-fill ex-bourbon and ex-oloroso sherry casks. The wood influence is strong, imparting rich tannic structures, vanillas and lengthy wood spice. The heavier pot still distillate used in Redbreast 21 adds extra viscosity, oiliness and some heavy spice that balances perfectly with the sweetness of the casks. As with any Irish Whiskey, the age statement legally conveys the youngest liquid in the bottle, however there is reportedly distillate up to 28 year old present.

Description
Nose:
Remarkable aroma spanning fresh tropical fruits, nuts and rich dried fruit.
Taste:
Soft vanilla, toasted oak, sherry nuttiness with a dusting of spices. Luscious fleshy fruit notes complete the silky mouthfeel.
Finish:
Lingers, seemingly forever, with oak and an assortment of spices and then, the final bow from barley – where it all began.
