The Lichtburg, situated in the heart of Essen, is an iconic cinema with a rich history that dates back to its opening in 1928. As Germany’s largest cinema auditorium, it was hailed as a masterpiece of its time, boasting a grandeur that rivalled many of Europe’s finest theaters. Over the decades, the Lichtburg has witnessed the evolution of film, surviving wars, technological shifts, and changing cinematic tastes. Today, it stands as a testament to the city’s enduring love for cinema, retaining its charm as a beacon of culture and entertainment.

Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Bright and lively aromas of green apple and ripe pear, complemented by a touch of honey and vanilla. Hints of toasted oak and a light floral undertone waft in the background.
Palate:
Smooth and creamy on entry, with flavors of caramelized sugar and malted barley. There’s a subtle fruitiness, reminiscent of citrus peels and dried apricots. A trace of spice, perhaps nutmeg and clove, adds depth.
Finish:
Medium to long, with lingering notes of toasted nuts, sweet vanilla, and a gentle, warming oakiness.
