Thus, it is the perfect name for the Jameson Whiskey Makers edition celebrating the work of Head Distiller, Brian Nation. Seeking to create a whiskey emphasizing the character of pot still and grain distillates before the barrel takes over. The result is a smooth mouth-feel with lighter cinnamon and some liquorice which suggests a large pot still influence, combined with a citrus fruity sweetness from the Irish grain.

Nose:
From floral perfume, through fresh herbs, to lively spices, this special selection of distillates shows how the subtle delicate sweet notes of Irish grain whiskey can complement the more robust character of the Irish pot still whiskey. Barley sugar sweetness combines with the succulence of grapefruit and green pepper, with a touch of marzipan adding to the depth.
Taste:
Starts off with barley sugar sweetness, progressing to hints of cinnamon and even a touch of liquorice. A vibrant note of mandarin orange appears alongside the nuttiness of ground almond.
Finish:
Stays light and zesty, with barley making a late appearance.

This Jameson 15 Year Old Very Special Old Whiskey is indeed a special bottle that was produced at the Bow Street distillery in the 1970s. It was aged for 15 years and is incredibly hard to come by today. A real piece of Irish history.
