Rich, silky and complex, Jameson 2007 Rarest Vintage Reserve is a combination of port-pipe matured and grain whiskey from some of the oldest casks in the store-room. A winner of double-gold at the World Spirits Competition in San Francisco, it was also twice named ‘Irish Whiskey of the Year’ by Malt Advocate magazine.
The whiskey has a robust fruity aroma combined with the spicy cinnamon and liquorice characteristic of fine Pot Still whiskey. The rich fruitiness imparted by the port-pipe, continues in the taste with heavier notes including dark chocolate adding to the intricacy of the whiskey.
Not intended to be especially rare at the time of its release but its balance of flavours and the range of ages have made it a true vintage bottle among aficionados, hence the global stock is decreasing at quite a rate.
Nose: Ric, fruity, ripe plums and peaches, mango, grapefruit, kasaba melon, raisins, milk chocolate, toffee, honey, cinnamon and oak.
Palate: Thick, oily mouthfeel with lots of sweet honey, bread, nuts. Buttery. Some smoke and salted dried meats.
Finish: Long and jammy, more clove and, some dark chocolate.

This Wicklow Rare blend is a mix of 80% grain whiskey and 20% 10 Year Old malt whiskey. It was matured in ex-bourbon casks for most of its life before being finished in Oloroso Sherry butts. A really lovely whiskey that comes in an elegant bottle.
