Hennessy Na Geanna Pure Malt (Japanese Exclusive)

$ 490

Na-Geanna is Irish/ Gaeilge/ Gaelic for the Geese. A reference to the “Wild Geese”, a term coined for the young Irish men and women who travelled abroad to fight under contract with foreign armies. One such soldier was Richard Hennessy, a Corkman exiled to France due to his political beliefs. After serving in the French Army he took his savings and established his eponymoboruus cognac company in 1765. It is now the largest cognac producer in the world with global sales of 50 million bottles annually.

A short-lived collaboration between Cooley Distillery and 7th generation cellar master and blender Yann Fillioux of Hennessy cognac. Yann would spend 50 years at the helm of blending operations at Hennessy and would be responsible for the Richard Hennessy and Paradis Imperial releases. Launched at the turn of the millennium to a very limited run. Conceived in an attempt to wedge into the heavily whiskey-leaning market of Japan. Na-Geanna Pure Malt was only made available to the Japanese market thus very hard to come by outside Asia.
