Introducing the Steamship Collection from Bushmills. This is the first release of the range which also includes a Bourbon, Port and Rum expression. The inspiration behind the release is to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the maiden voyage of the steamship SS Bushmills to America in the 1890’s. The ship travelled to America, the Caribbean, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan, returning with interesting new casks along the way. Interesting to the Steamship Collection is the use of a single cask type to mature their single malt. This marks a departure to the standard operating procedure of Bushmills to incorporate a blending a different cask types for their core range of single malts. In this case we have first-fill Oloroso Sherry barrels. Released in 2016 as a travel retail exclusive.
